Expect muted fourth quarter results from Singapore’s three big banks
On back of lower trading-related income.
Singapore’s three biggest banks are expected to report seasonally subdued fourth quarter results, a report by Nomura revealed.
According to Nomura, the fourth quarter is usually a weak quarter as trading- and capital market-related income is lower due to reduced volumes associated with the year-end holidays.
Trading income could also surprise on the downside owing to the appreciating US dollar and falling oil prices.
