Korea's Q2 e-payments highest since 2008
Average daily transactions jumped 17.4% to US$104.87m.
South Korea is seeing its highest e-payments records since 2008, the Bank of Korea (BOK) revealed. According to their data, the figures could be due to the growing number of people using mobile shopping and remittance services.
The BOK revealed that the daily average amount of electronic financial transactions jumped 17.4% QoQ to $117.4b in Q2. Meanwhile, the average daily number of electronic deals surged 26% to 3.63 million.
For daily transactions in digital wallet services, the average amount grew 7.1% QoQ to 8.03 million transactions worth $360m.
