Which sector was outperforming in Q3 22?

The tech sector was a clear outperformer in the third quarter of 2022.

Analyst, CGS-CIMB, said the tech sector was clear outperformer in the third quarter of 2022, followed by real estate and telecommunications. 

Amongst the index stocks, individually, the best performers were CapitalandInvestments (CLI), Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, and DFI Retail Group. Underperforming stocks were SATS, Emperador, and Mapletree Industrial Trust.

For the mid-large-cap space, outperformers were UMS Holdings, iFast Corporation, and Yanlord.

CGS-CIMB said institutional investors were net sellers for the previous four weeks, disposing of REITs and financials whilst buying telcos and industrials.

"Retail saw outflows for each of the preceding weeks. Apart from some accumulation in REITs, flows saw retail investors sell Consumer, Industrials, Developers, Tech, Telcos, and Financials," said the analyst.
