Tax savings top Singaporeans' wishlist for Budget 2016

Healthcare, childcare benefits are next.

One in three Singaporeans believe that more tax incentives should be included in Budget 2016, according to the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants' (ISCA) Pre-Budget Survey.

This is similar to the previous year. Several new tax incentives were announced at the Budget 2015 Speech, such as personal income tax rebate and tax deduction for donations.
Nonetheless, a number of respondents express that they will like to have further tax benefits to help them adjust to the rising cost of living in Singapore. 

In terms of importance on the wish list, respondents rank healthcare (26%) and childcare benefits (13%) second and third respectively. 

Some respondents cited that escalating healthcare costs is one of their main concerns and it is crucial for the Government to help Singaporeans, in particular, the elderly, low-income and sandwiched class, to have access to affordable healthcare. 

Some respondents feel that support for families with children are important measures to boost birth rate, making the formation of family a more achievable life goal
