Singapore’s Global Innovation Alliance launches in New York City
GIA is now present in 18 cities in 13 countries.
Enterprise Singapore has launched a Global Innovation Alliance node in New York City, enabling Singapore tech startups to tap into opportunities in healthcare, clean energy, digital technology and financial services.
In a statement, EnterpriseSG said the new node is the second in the United States, following the rollout in San Francisco.
“The US has a vibrant startup environment in many sectors such as healthcare, clean energy, digital technology and financial services,” Lee Chuan Teck, Chief Executive Officer, EnterpriseSG, said.
“The new GIA node in NYC builds on our existing network in the Bay Area to offer coast-to-coast support for Singapore tech startups looking for innovation partners, funding or to scale their businesses,” he added.
Enterprise SG partnered with WEVE Acceleration to run the GIA NYC acceleration programme over 10 weeks. This virtual one-on-one mentorship and group coaching session provides companies with knowledge of the NYC business regulations and cultures and creates their go-to-market strategies.
This will be followed by a two-week in-market immersion programme where the companies can network with industry partners and other startups and pitch to potential clients and investors.
Aside from New York and San Francisco, GIA is also present in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Suzhou in China, Paris in France, Berlin and Munich in Germany, and Bangalore in India.
It also operates in Jakarta in Indonesia, Tokyo in Japan, Seoul in South Korea, Manila in the Philippines, Bangkok in Thailand, Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, London in the United Kingdom, and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.
