PM Lee to visit the US for APEC summit

During his visit, Lee will also launch Enterprise Singapore’s San Francisco Overseas Centre.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will make a working visit to San Francisco, California, United States (US) from 13 to 18 November 2023.

He will attend the 30th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM) at the invitation of US President Joe Biden.

The theme for the APEC summit this year is “Creating a Resilient and Sustainable Future for All.”

Leaders will discuss ways to strengthen trade, increase supply chain resilience, tackle climate change and ensure an equitable and inclusive future.

PM Lee will also hold bilateral meetings with other APEC Leaders on the sidelines of the AELM.

He will also meet with the governor of California Gavin Newsom and other business leaders from prominent US companies.

In addition, PM Lee will launch Enterprise Singapore’s San Francisco Overseas Centre and meet Singaporeans residing in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
