MAS survey says economy may expand 6.5% in 2010
Surveyed economists also predict a 9.7 percent increase in manufacturing after a 4.1 percent drop in 2009.
Growth is also expected in the exports sector, with forecast increase at 12.3 percent. Median estimates also showed private consumption may rise 5 percent this year, while financial services may see a 5.8 percent expansion. The participating economists, in addition, estimate construction growth for 2010 to be at 8.9 percent.
The survey was conducted by the Monetary Authority of Singapore involving 20 economists.
