HDB households to receive 2.25 times higher rebates for 2024: Wong

They will get $950 dollars to cover utility bills.

Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has announced support and assurance packages for Singapore households and HDB flat owners.

The GST voucher fund has also been topped up by $6b, with the aim of helping households defray costs, Wong said during the Singapore Budget 2024.

HDB households, meanwhile, can accept 2.25 times higher rebates or $950 dollars in financial years 2024. This will cover up to 4 months of utility bills for those living in 3- and 4-room flats.

CDC vouchers amounting to $600 dollars will be given out to all Singapore households over the next year. A total of $300 will be given out in June 2024, whilst the remaining $300 will be given out in January 2025.

A cost-of-living special payment of between $200 and $400 in cash will also be given to Singaporeans with income of not over $100,000 annually, and who own not more than one property.

We have designed this package so that lower income households will get more support,” Wong said.

Larger households-- especially those with elderly and children-- will also enjoy more support, he added.
