Chart of the Day: Overall trade moderates in June
On a seasonally adjusted basis, total trade decreased by 3.7% in June.
Total trade decreased over the month of June after posting a recent high in May 2017.
As this chart from Maybank Kim Eng shows, the total trade decreased by 3.7% in June 2017, after the 7.6% growth in May 2017.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, the level of total trade reached $79.6b in June 2017, lower than the previous month’s achievement of $82.7b.
Total exports declined by 2.5% in June 2017, following the 7.2% increase in May 2017. Meanwhile, total imports also decreased by 5.2% in June 2017, after the 8.0% growth in the previous month.
