Chart of the Day: List of least sexist countries in the world excludes Singapore

Here's where Singapore missed the mark.

In the latest World Economic Forum's The Global Gender Gap Report 2012, Singapore only scored 0.682 against the perfect score of 1.00 for gender equality.

According to WEF, the most important determinant of a country’s competitiveness is its human talent—the skills, education and productivity of its workforce—and women account for  one-half of the potential talent base throughout the world. 

Closing gender gaps, it said, is thus not only a matter of human rights and equity; it is also one of efficiency.
