$400 million to be spent on urban sustainability R&D
This amidst what are said to be increasingly scarcer resources and tighter land constraints.
During the first ever Urban Sustainability Research and Development (R&D) Congress, Minister of State for National Development and Manpower, Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, said, “Like many other cities in the world, we will need to grapple with fresh challenges, from climate change, competition for resources and opportunities from megacities, changing demographics, and growing demands on urban services.”
According to the Ministry of National Development, the fund will be broken down as follows:
