Philippine unemployment worsens to 7.1% in January
But won't affect growth for now.
BBVA noted that the Philippines’ unemployment rate rose to a seasonally adjusted 7.1% in January from 6.8% in October, although the research firm said this will not hamper the country's booming economic growth, at least for the short term.
"Despite the disappointing reading, growth momentum is expected to remain intact in the short term, as domestic demand remains buoyant," said BBVA.
