L.C. Development names Iris Wu Hwee Tan as Executive Director

The Board believes that Ms Wu will continue providing her invaluable contributions to the Company in her position given her capabilities and track record.

L.C. Development announced the appointment of Iris Wu Hwee Tan as Executive Director.The Board of Directors has taken into consideration Ms Wu’s extensive corporate experience, in-depth knowledge of the Group's corporate affairs as well as her contributions in arriving at the decision to approve Ms Wu's appointment as Executive Director and a member of the Board. 

As a member of the Board, Ms Wu's key role will be to continue to manage the financial and corporate affairs of the Group, particularly in the areas of finance, accounting, tax, corporate secretarial and legal, as well as ensuring compliance with sound corporate governance practices. In addition, Ms Wu will also be playing an active role in assisting both the Chairman and the Managing Director of the Group in executing strategic decisions as well as in charting the Group's future growth, according to a L.C. Development report.

Ms Wu, 55, who has been with the Group for 30 years, started as an Accountant in 1982 and was promoted to Assistant Group Financial Controller in 1990. She was transferred to Lum Chang Securities Pte Ltd, the stockbroking arm of Lum Chang Holdings Limited as Financial Controller in 1998 and subsequently rejoined the Group in April 2002 as its Deputy Group Financial Controller and Company Secretary. She was promoted to Group Financial Controller in August 2006. In her capacity as Group Financial Controller, Ms Wu manages the day-to-day financial and corporate affairs of the Group covering accounting, tax, corporate secretarial and legal. She also monitors the Group’s compliance with good corporate governance practices and has played a key role in all the corporate exercises undertaken by the Group.
