ST Engineering taps Savills for airframe maintenance facility in Changi Creek

Savills will be part of the Multi-Disciplinary Consultancy Team for the project.

ST Engineering has appointed Savills Singapore alongside Arup Singapore to act as the Multi-Disciplinary Consultancy Team for the design and development of its 904,176 sq ft airframe maintenance facility at Changi Creek.

As the Consultant Project Manager of the development, Savills will work with ST Engineering through the project life cycle from  due diligence, design, procurement, and construction to the successful completion of the facility.

The airframe maintenance facility will have four hangar bays  that can service widebody
aircraft, inclusive of a hybrid paint and maintenance bay. 

The first of the four hangar bays will be ready in mid-2025, whilst the other three will likely be completed by the end of 2026.

Including construction and equipment costs, the total development cost for the Changi Creek facility is $170m.

When fully operational, the facility will contribute an additional 1.3 million man-hours, a 10% increase to ST Engineering’s annual global airframe maintenance, repair and overhaul capacity. 

Japan Airlines will be the first airline to induct its aircraft into the new facility for servicing.
