Mama Shelter Singapore hits market for $195m

CBRE is selling the asset via an EOI exercise.

CBRE announced the sale of a new freehold seven-storey hotel, Mama Shelter Singapore Orchard, at 110 Killiney Road via an expression of interest (EOI).

The EOI will close on Thursday, 30 May, at 3 pm. The hotel has an indicative price of $195m or $1.7m per key. 

Foreigners can purchase the property with no Additional Buyer’s Stamp Duty (ABSD) or Seller’s Stamp Duty (SSD) applied.

The hotel's total floor area spans 39,628 sq ft. It has 115 guest rooms supported by facilities such as a restaurant on the ground floor and a rooftop pool and bar.

Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
