Daily Briefing: Singapore developer plans tallest skyscraper in London; CMA CGM offers to buy NOL

And here’s the deal on Singapore’s new push for tech-based senior care.

Aroland Holdings Ltd., a Singapore-based developer, plans to build the tallest tower in the City of London’s financial district near the skyscrapers known as The Cheesegrater and The Gherkin. The 73-story building will include a public viewing gallery and restaurant at the top, as well as enough workspace for 10,000 people, Aroland said in an e-mail on Monday. Read more here.

French transport firm CMA CGM SA said Monday it has made a $2.4 billion takeover bid for Singapore-based Neptune Orient Lines (NOL) to try to cement its own position as a global leader in container shipping. The proposed cash acquisition, announced in a filing with the Singapore Exchange where NOL is listed, values it at around Sg$3.4 billion ($2.4 billion). Find out more here.
