Coldplay’s 6-day concert boosts demand for accommodation in Singapore
Data from Agoda showed that searches for accommodation in the Lion City surged 8.7x.
The sky is full of stars for Singapore’s hoteliers as searches for accommodations in the city state rose by 8.7x in anticipation of Coldplay’s six-day concert in January 2024.
According to Agoda, the surge is driven mainly by Malaysia and Indonesia. Searches also increased from travellers from the Philippines, Brunei, the United States, and Thailand.
Meanwhile, the booking platform also believes that the Lion City will also get more travellers from Hong Kong, Australia, Vietnam, India, and many other markets.
“The significant upswing aligns with ticket releases for the highly anticipated six-day Coldplay concert series, demonstrating the undeniable power of music as a major travel motivator. With six shows, Singapore will be the main stop in Asia during Coldplay’s ‘Music of the Spheres World Tour,” Agoda said.
