Chart of the Day: Retail space occupancy decline eases in Q2
The amount of occupied retail space decreased by only 3,000 sqm.
The latest figures from the Urban Redevelopment Authority revealed that the amount of occupied retail space decreased by only 3,000 sqm, moderating from the decline of 41,000 sqm in the previous quarter.
Meanwhile, the stock of retail space increased by another 18,000 sqm, rebounding from the 29,000 sqm decline in the previous quarter.
As a result, the island-wide vacancy rate of retail space rose to 8.1% at the end of 2Q17, from 7.7% at the end of the previous quarter.
