WeWork opens mixed-purpose commercial development in 380 Jalan Besar

The firm’s next location will be unveiled in Funan on the second quarter of 2019.

WeWork launched its 380 Jalan Besar site, a mixed-purpose commercial development marking as its first location in the suburbs and tenth location in Singapore.

The area is set to be spruced up by 2020 where residents can expect some 200 improvement projects worth $20m. It will also follow through a three-pronged design methodology ‘Revive, Reinvent and Relive’ that will pay homage to its vision of being a Kampung in the city.

WeWork 380 Jalan Besar is said to be the first location to have a sky terrace with a swimming pool, gym, and open roof terrace overlooking the CBD skyline. Its design features acrylic tiles bordering the community bar, taking inspiration from the facade of the Chinese villa House of Tan Teng Niah.

A mixture of rattan furniture and rattan lighting is also used in the space that plays homage to the Southeast Asian culture in this region. Key design moments in the space also includes a custom mural of fruits behind the community bar.

WeWork will also be opening its next location at Funan in the second quarter of 2019.
