Stunning hotel-in-a-garden PARKROYAL on Pickering to open by end-2012

The 15,000-sqm of lush gardens constitutes more than twice the hotel’s total land area.

According to a release, scheduled to open at the end of 2012, PARKROYAL on Pickering is the latest iconic hotel landmark in Singapore, with a stunning hotel-in-a-garden concept that incorporates energy-saving features throughout the building. As the flagship, brand-defining PARKROYAL hotel, the 367-room PARKROYAL on Pickering promises to be ‘Your Trusted Local Companion.’ 

The hotel is situated at the gateway of Singapore’s Central Business District, Hong Lim Park and bustling Chinatown; close to various modes of public transportation. It is minutes away from waterfront dining and entertainment options along the Singapore River as well as vibrant nightlife hotspots at Clarke Quay and Boat Quay.

PARKROYAL is a ‘hotel-in-a-garden’ featuring some 15,000 square metres of lush gardens, waterfalls and planter walls, which constitutes more than twice the hotel’s total land area. It is Singapore’s first zero-energy sky gardens powered by solar energy cells and has a diverse variety of over 10 flora species to beautify the hotel compound.

It has a comprehensive energy and water conservation features such as the light, rain and motion sensors, as well as the use of rain harvesting and NEWater (recycled water) and was awarded the BCA (Building and Construction Authority) Green Mark Platinum, Singapore’s highest rating for green buildings. It is also the Winner of the Solar Pioneer Award as one of the first in the country’s hospitality sector to use a solar energy system.
