ST Engineering promotes 5G-enabled smart rail operations

The company will bring the technology to markets including Europe.

ST Engineering will continue to integrate 5G technology in its Smart Metro solutions to adopt the Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS).

ST Engineering will use 5G technology features to enhance rail communications connectivity, operational efficiency, and safety through its AGIL® Smart Metro Control Centre and AGIL® Passenger Information System.

The 5G technology will allow rail operators remote digital access to all rail resources for reliable and cost-efficient communication between trains and ground control.

Rail operators will also be able to monitor, manage, and maintain train systems, enable accurate location tracking, and respond to incidents quickly through real-time data transmission.

To enhance passenger experience, access to real-time travel information and multimedia applications including live streaming will be provided.

The 5G-enabled Smart Metro solutions are planned to be introduced to the Europe market where rail operators are starting to transition to FRMCS.

Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
