Lian Beng secures $78mln Centro Residences deal

The building construction group won the $78 million deal from Far East Group to build a 34-storey residential tower opposite Ang Mo Kio MRT station.

Lian Beng expects to commence work on the development this month with completion target of January 2013.

Mr Ong Pang Aik, Managing Director of Lian Beng, said, "As a Group, we have been fairly successful in leveraging our internal resources to provide more value-added activities for our customers. We are delighted to be able to work with Far East Group on yet another of its distinctive projects."

Lian Beng's order book now stands at $820 million, after securing the Centro Residences contract.

Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
