Vard nabs equipment and electrical contract with India's Cochin

The deal has a $24.7 million value.

Singapore-listed shipbuilder Vard Holdings has secured new equipment and electrical installation contract with India's Cochin Shipyard.

The contract would entail engineering support in the shipyard's approvals process, delivery of electric propulsion and automation system, and the complete electrical installation on board the vessel.

The vessel will have the length of approximately 120 meters and will be equipped with VARD's SeaQ products and systems.

The contract, with a $24.7 million value, was awarded to Vard subsidiary, Vard Electro AS, which will provide engineering and installation services throughout the entire project.

Vard Electro AS Vice President for Sales and Marketing Peter Pilskog said the contract is the testament of the group's know-how in electrical engineering and system integration.

”We are very pleased to have been chosen by Cochin Shipyard to supply the electrical and propulsion systems for this project, and look forward to a close cooperation where the two companies together deliver the best product for the end customer," he said.
