OKP Holdings clinches S$46.8 mln contract for Alexandra Canal improvement

Three new underpasses crossing Zion Road and Kim Seng Road will be constructed as part of the deal.

In a statement, the engineering firm said work on the project will start in September 2011 and will be completed by the first quarter of 2014.

Aside from building new underpasses, the engineering firm will also reconstruct the open canal between Zion Road and Kim Seng Road.

Or Toh Wat, OKP Holdings’s Managing Director, said, “This latest win further fortifies OKP’s position as a leading player in Singapore’s public service arena. We are glad for the privilege to be able to play our part and contribute in some small way to the continued strengthening of Singapore’s infrastructure.”

The latest win, which came at the heels of a S$4.9mln contract from the Jurong Town Corp. to build new sewers in Tuas earlier this month, boosts the company’s order book based on secured contracts to approximately S$433.3 mln.

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
