Environment-friendly builders to get more incentives: URA

Greening the skyline now made more profitable.

There will be more incentives in store for property builders and developers who adapt the government’s Landscaping for Urban Spaces and High Rises (LUSH) programme, wrote Minister of National Development Khaw Boon Wan in his latest blog post.

Khaw noted that more than half of eligible residential developments and a third of eligible commercial properties have already applied for LUSH incentives in just the past two years.

To date, the programme has aided the development of 40ha of new high-rise urban greenery. This is equivalent to the size of 130 primary school fields.

“We are pleased with what LUSH has accomplished and have decided to do more, through additional incentives and regulations. Our aim is to make Singapore a great garden, and a great home. URA will announce details shortly,” wrote Khaw.
