Engineering firm Sapphire bags $87m contract to build China subway

It will build one subway station and two intervals in Hangzhou.

Engineering firm Sapphire secured an $87m (RMB436m) contract for a construction in an urban subway system in Hangzhou, China, an announcement revealed.

Through the deal, Sapphire will build one subway station and two intervals including underground passenger pathways access in an urban environment. Said core infrastructure will be planned for completion over a 22-month period.

“With specialised experience in designing and constructing large-scale infrastructure assets, Sapphire has amassed a strong record of project execution in urban subway systems in China,” Sapphire CEO Wang Heng said.

The SGX-listed firm’s current order book has hit $580m (RMB2.9b).
