Tiger Singapore takes off with 24% growth in passenger carriage

Its Aussie wing was impressive as well.

According to a release, Tiger Singapore recorded 652 million revenue passenger‐kilometres (RPK) for the month of February 2013, representing a year‐on‐year increase of 32%.

This was mainly attributable to higher bookings during the Lunar New Year period. As the increase in traffic outpaced the 27% increase in capacity to 782 million available seat‐kilometres (ASK), passenger load factor improved 3 percentage points to 83%, from 80% a year ago.

The number of passengers carried grew 24% to 354,000 from 286,000 in February 2012.

For the 12 months to February 2013, Tiger Singapore recorded a 19% increase in traffic to 7.8 billion RPK, more than keeping pace with a 14% increase in capacity to 9.3 billion ASK.

Consequently, passenger load factor was three percentage points higher at 84%. The number of passengers carried grew 12% to 4.3 million, compared to 3.9 million in the previous period.

Tiger Australia recorded an 82% increase in traffic to 209 million RPK for the month of February 2013. Capacity increased 75% to 248 million ASK, from 142 million ASK a year ago.

As a result, passenger load factor improved 3 percentage points to 84%. In February 2013, Tiger Australia carried 198,000 passengers, representing an increase of 102% over the previous period.

The airline was operating at a significantly reduced capacity and on a limited schedule a year ago.

For the 12 months to February 2013, Tiger Australia recorded a 38% increase in traffic to 2.7 billion RPK, following a 40% increase in capacity to 3.3 billion ASK.

Passenger load factor was 82%, down one percentage point from the previous corresponding period. The number of passengers carried grew 37% to 2.3 million, compared to 1.7 million carried in the previous period.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

You're the reader we write for. You're also the person our partners want to reach.

If that sentence describes you — a founder, a C-suite, someone whose attention companies pay good money for — then you already understand why SBR works. We've spent twenty years earning the trust of readers exactly like you. Which is exactly what makes this an interesting place for your company to show up, too.

The ways it can show up are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The right fit depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If your company has something this audience should know about, we'd like to hear what you're working on.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.

None of these stories are mine. They were sent to me by readers of Atomic Habits. My hope is that these examples will illustrate how real people are putting the book into practice. They will show you what people are actually doing to build good habits and break bad ones. And hopefully, they will spark some ideas for how you can do the same.
