Singapore Airlines served 7.7% more passengers in June

Overall cargo traffic also continued growth at 14.2% and outpaced systemwide capacity growth of 12.4%.

In June 2010, Singapore Airlines registered 11.4% year-on-year growth in systemwide passenger carriage (measured in revenue passenger kilometres), which outpaced the increase in capacity (measured in available seat kilometres) of 1.8%. This led to an improvement in the passenger load factor (PLF) of 7.1 percentage points to 82.8%. The number of passengers carried rose by 7.7% over the same month last year to 1.4 million.

The year-on-year increase in capacity arose from the injection of additional frequencies to the Americas (Newark and Houston), South West Pacific (Perth and Brisbane), North Asia (Fukuoka, Hong Kong, Beijing and Incheon), West Asia and Africa (Mumbai, Delhi, Dhaka, Male and Colombo) and the introduction of new services to Munich.

Overall cargo traffic (measured in freight tonne kilometres) continued to register growth of 14.2%, which outpaced systemwide capacity growth of 12.4%. This led to a 1.0 percentage point increase in cargo load factor.
