Singapore Airlines inaugurates Tokyo Haneda services

SIA’s operations to Narita and Haneda airports bring in a total of 47 weekly flights to and from Japan.

Singapore Airlines flight SQ634, carrying 246 customers, departed this afternoon on its inaugural journey from Singapore Changi Airport to Tokyo Haneda Airport, marking a new chapter in the Airline’s operations to Japan.
SIA CEO Mr Chew Choon Seng joined customers and staff in celebrating the commencement of Singapore Airlines’ newest service at a pre-departure event at Changi Airport on Sunday. Customers were treated to refreshments as well as a special gift – two limited edition teacups – commemorating this landmark occasion, according to an SIA report.

The inaugural flight departed at 1546hrs and is scheduled to arrive in Haneda at 2305hrs. The return service, SQ633, is scheduled to depart Haneda at 0030hrs on 1 November and arrive in Singapore at 0655hrs. A celebratory event will also be organised for customers on the inaugural flight from Haneda.

With the introduction of twice-daily Tokyo Haneda flights, which are served with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, SIA is now offering customers even greater choice and convenience for travel to the Japanese capital.

There is surely something for every traveller to Tokyo – be it Haneda’s ease of access to Tokyo’s main commercial districts and strong domestic network, or Narita’s international connectivity and proximity to Northeastern Tokyo and the Kanto region.”

Singapore Airlines now operates a total of 47 weekly flights to and from Japan. In addition to twice-daily flights to both Tokyo Narita and Tokyo Haneda, the Airline operates daily to both Nagoya and Osaka, and five-times-weekly to Fukuoka.
