SIA and UA expand codesharing to 19 new destinations

SIA customers can connect to ten more US cities from Los Angeles.  

Singapore Airlines and United Airlines announced an expansion of their codeshare agreement. Both aviation companies are members of the Star Alliance, 

This would make it easier for customers to travel to more cities in the United States of America and South East Asia in particular.

Starting 26 April 2022, SIA customers can connect to United's flights out of Los Angeles to Austin, Baltimore, Boise, Cleveland, Denver, Honolulu, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Reno, and Sacramento. Existing connections prior to this expansion are Houston to Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, New Orleans, Orlando, and Tampa.

On the flip side, United customers can connect to seven new South East Asian destinations from Singapore, to Bandar Seri Begawan, Siem Reap, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Denpasar (Bali), and Surabaya. They may also connect to Perth, Australia, and Male, Maldives.

"The expansion of the codeshare agreement will provide both SIA and United customers with a greater array of choices and connections, as well as seamless transfers for their business or leisure travel. This will also help to strengthen the deep and longstanding ties between Singapore and the US," said JoAnn Tan, senior vice president of marketing planning for Singapore Airlines in a press statement.

These codeshare flights will progressively be made available for sale through the airlines' respective booking channels, subject to regulatory approvals.
