Seletar Airport welcomes first commercial flight since March 2020

Malaysian airline Firefly will resume its Kuala Lumpur-Singapore flights.

Seletar Airport welcomed its first commercial flight since March 2020 with the arrival of Malaysian airline, Firefly, in the port on 13 June.

Firefly’s FY3124 arrived at the airport with 59 passengers on board from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport.

The Malaysian airline also announced that it will resume its Kuala Lumpur-Singapore flights from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport to Seletar Airport, respectively.

As a reopening gift, Firefly said all its passengers travelling to and from Seletar will enjoy a 20kg complimentary baggage allowance, and complimentary in-flight refreshments onboard.

Firefly’s maiden flight to Seletar was in April 2019, but its operations to and from the airport were halted in March 2020 due to the pandemic.

“Singapore has become one of the important destinations for us, connecting passengers of leisure and business. Hence, this recommencement will be able to connect passengers from both countries, whilst enhancing the economy via the tourism industry,” said Firefly CEO Philip See.

In preparation for Firefly's return, as well as other flight schedules, Changi Airport Group (CAG), which manages Seletar Airport, said it conducted multiple operational trials and system tests with the airport’s partners.

“Airport staff also participated in refresher training sessions and briefings on operational and safety requirements to prepare them to serve passengers. CAG has engaged taxi companies to raise awareness of Firefly’s resumption of flights. Taxi drivers that make the trip to Seletar Airport to pick up passengers will also enjoy free coffee and tea in June,” CAG said.

Passengers travelling must be fully vaccinated and comply with all standard operating procedures (SOP) set by both countries before booking. International flights are subject to local government and regulatory approval.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

You're the reader we write for. You're also the person our partners want to reach.

If that sentence describes you — a founder, a C-suite, someone whose attention companies pay good money for — then you already understand why SBR works. We've spent twenty years earning the trust of readers exactly like you. Which is exactly what makes this an interesting place for your company to show up, too.

The ways it can show up are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The right fit depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If your company has something this audience should know about, we'd like to hear what you're working on.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.

30 One-Sentence Stories From People Who Have Built Better Habits
None of these stories are mine. They were sent to me by readers of Atomic Habits. My hope is that these examples will illustrate how real people are putting the book into practice. They will show you what people are actually doing to build good habits and break bad ones. And hopefully, they will spark some ideas for how you can do the same.
