Launches and take-offs: Changi Airport receives highest traffic in 6 months

Find out which routes were the busiest.

Singapore Changi Airport continues to be one of the most lively airports in the world, serving more than 100 airlines flying to over 300 cities in some 70 countries and territories worldwide. Each week, about 6,500 flights land or depart from Changi, with more than 53 million passengers passing through the airport a year.

Changi’s latest operations report shows that it managed 4.65 million passengers in June 2014, representing the highest number of passenger movements Changi has handled in a month this year.

On a year to year basis, passenger traffic was lower by 0.3%, in tandem with a drop in aircraft movements that dipped 0.5% to 28,130.

Jakarta continued to be Changi Airport’s busiest route, followed by Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Manila. According to Changi, Denpasar-Bali registered a strong 31% increase in the first six months of 2014 compared to a year ago, the fastest growing among the top 10 routes.

Here’s more from the release:

In the first half of this year, 26.61 million passengers travelled through Changi Airport, 1.4% more than the corresponding period in 2013. During the same six-month period, flight movements increased 2.9% to 171,680 while cargo shipments totalled 910,100 tonnes, a growth of 0.6% on-year.

As at 1 July 2014, more than 100 airlines operate at Changi Airport, connecting Singapore to over 300 cities in some 70 countries and territories worldwide. With more than 6,500 weekly scheduled flights, an aircraft takes off or lands at Changi roughly once every 90 seconds.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

You're the reader we write for. You're also the person our partners want to reach.

If that sentence describes you — a founder, a C-suite, someone whose attention companies pay good money for — then you already understand why SBR works. We've spent twenty years earning the trust of readers exactly like you. Which is exactly what makes this an interesting place for your company to show up, too.

The ways it can show up are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The right fit depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If your company has something this audience should know about, we'd like to hear what you're working on.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.

None of these stories are mine. They were sent to me by readers of Atomic Habits. My hope is that these examples will illustrate how real people are putting the book into practice. They will show you what people are actually doing to build good habits and break bad ones. And hopefully, they will spark some ideas for how you can do the same.
