Tiger Airways secures new deal with EuroCommerce

EuroCommerce aids airline extend lead in enabling foreign currency payments by Tiger customers.

Tiger Airways has appointed Ireland-based EuroCommerce as its new IT partner for Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC). With this deal, passengers continue to enjoy the option of making payments in their own currencies, an innovation introduced by Tiger Airways more than 2 years ago. Tiger Airways introduced multi-currency payment options for passengers in January 2008, starting with the Hong Kong Dollar, Thai Baht and US Dollar in addition to the Singapore Dollar. It subsequently expanded its offering to other currencies, including – Australian Dollar, Euro, British Pound, Malaysian Ringgit, and New Zealand Dollar. By paying in a currency of their choice, passengers avoid the hassle of currency conversion and risks of fluctuations, according to a Tiger Airways report.

Since 2005, EuroCommerce has been providing Tiger Airways with various IT solutions to support credit card payment processing.

Tony Davis, President and Group CEO of Tiger Airways Holding Limited, said, "We are pleased to expand our partnership with EuroCommerce. By expanding our relationship to provide a fuller range of solutions, we realise greater operational and cost efficiencies in payment processing. When Tiger Airways gets a better deal as a customer, we give even better fares to our customers. This is what we set out to do, and have succeeded at doing consistently. From April 2009 to March 2010, we reduced our average costs by 11.4% over the previous year, and lowered our fares by an average of 22.2%."
