Scoot scoots to Shenyang, Qingdao in China

Tickets for both cities are on sale.

In a release, Scoot announced flights to two more China cities: Shenyang in Liaoning province and Qingdao in Shandong province. Tickets for both cities go on sale today.

“Qingdao and Shenyang are very exiting additions to Scoot’s fast-growing network, and it’s great to be launching two more China routes. Qingdao, a coastal city with a population of nearly 9 million people, world famous for its great beer and, more recently, world class companies such as Haier, is regularly judged as one of China’s most liveable cities. Its mix of historic German and modern architecture, seafood and proximity to Lao Shan, the mountain considered as one of the birthplaces of Buddhism, offers something for all,” said Campbell Wilson, Scoot’s CEO.

“Shenyang, with a population of 13 million people, is the largest city in Northeast China and the spiritual home of the Qing Dynasty. In addition to being an important shopping and business destination, Shenyang is a strategic gateway to North East China.

“Scoot’s wide-body service, great value airfares and Scootitude mean that there’s never been a better time to explore these exciting cities,” added Campbell.

The new service, which will follow a circular routing of Singapore-Shenyang-Qingdao-Singapore, will operate three times per week starting from 27 November 2012. Chinese travellers will be able to connect to Scoot’s other destinations including Sydney, Gold Coast and Bangkok, as well as many of the 220 cities in 60 countries accessible from one of the world’s premier air hubs.

From Singapore, introductory one-way airfares to Shenyang and Qingdao start from just S$98. All fares are inclusive of taxes and the special promotion starts at 9am Singapore time on 30 August 2012 and ends at 11.59pm on 2 September 2012. Fares for Chinese residents will be released at a later date, upon approval by the regulatory authority.
