
Experienced executives make up Singapore Airlines' new set of senior managers
Singapore Airlines announced Thursday its new set of senior managers, all with years of experience as executives in SIA.
Mr Goh Choon Phong, who has been President of subsidiary SIA Cargo since 2006, will return to SIA as Executive Vice President (Designate) for Marketing & the Sales Regions. He will will be replacing Mr Huang Cheng Eng, set to retire in June.
Mr Goh will report to Mr Bey Soo Khiang, who will assume the new post of Senior Executive Vice President (Marketing & Corporate Services). Presently, Mr Bey is the Senior Executive Vice President (Operations & Planning). He will be in charge of Marketing and the Sales Regions, in addition to the Corporate Services Division, currently headed by Senior Vice President Mr Teoh Tee Hooi, who will also be retiring in March.
The roles of Mr Ng Chin Hwee, Executive Vice President (Human Resources & Planning) and Mr Mak Swee Wah, Executive Vice President (Operations & Services), remain unchanged. Both will now report directly, however, to the Chief Executive Officer.
Mr Tan Kai Ping, who joined SIA in 1995, will be appointed President of SIA Cargo. He held various senior positions in SIA’s cargo division before being seconded in 2005 to be President of Shanghai-based associate Great Wall Airlines. In October 2008, Mr Tan returned to SIA Cargo as Senior Vice President - Operations.
All senior management appointments will take effect on 1 March 2010.
