Changi Airport Group awards handling license to Aircraft Service International Group

With the ten-year licence, ASIG will provide a full suite of passenger handling, apron handling and cargo handling services at Changi Airport.

Changi Airport Group announced that it has awarded a third ground handling licence at Singapore Changi Airport to US-based Aircraft Service International Group.

These services are presently provided by two agents – SATS Ltd and Changi International Airport Services Limited. In addition, SIA Engineering Company also provides technical ramp services such as aircraft marshalling and parking, tow-in/ push-back services and aircraft exterior cleaning.

CAG's decision to grant a third ground handling licence follows a tender which saw proposals submitted by three of the four shortlisted parties. The tender evaluation considered many criteria including the sustainability of the proposer's business model, its ability to provide cost- and service-competitive services, its plans to drive innovation at Changi Airport and its track record.
ASIG's proposal was judged to be the best and to have fully met the requirements of the tender.

The company presently has refuelling operations at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok and has expressed an interest to expand its operations in Asia, including Singapore.
