Tiger Singapore increased November traffic by a terrific 33% yoy

Tiger Australia even more impressive with 110% traffic spike.

In its operating statistics report released to the Singapore Exchange, Singapore Airlines' budget carrier Tiger Airways revealed that Tiger Singapore recorded a 33% increase in traffic to 721 million revenue passenger-kilometres (RPK) for the month of November 2012. This comes on the back of a 17% increase in capacity to 852 million available seat-kilometres (ASK).

Consequently, y-o-y passenger load factor was 10 percentage points higher at 85%. The number of passengers carried grew 30% year-on-year (y-o-y) to 389,000 passengers.

For the 12 months to November 2012, Tiger Singapore recorded a 21% increase in traffic to 7.4 billion RPK, following a 20% increase in capacity to 9.0 billion ASK. Consequently, passenger load factor was 83%, up one percentage point from the previous corresponding period. The number of passengers carried grew 13% y-o-y to 4.1 million passengers.

Meanwhile, Tiger Australia recorded a 110% increase in traffic to 256 million RPK for the month of November 2012. Capacity increased 113% to 296 million ASK for the month. The airline carried 239,000 passengers in November 2012, representing an increase of 132% y-o-y. However, the airline was operating at a significantly reduced capacity and on a limited schedule in November 2011. Passenger load factor, at 86%, reflected a y-o-y decline of two percentage points.

For the 12 months to November 2012, Tiger Australia recorded a 3% decline in traffic to 2.3 billion RPK, following a 1% decline in capacity to 2.9 billion ASK. Consequently, passenger load factor was 82%, down two percentage points from the earlier period. The number of passengers carried was down 10% y-o-y to 1.9 million passengers.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

You're the reader we write for. You're also the person our partners want to reach.

If that sentence describes you — a founder, a C-suite, someone whose attention companies pay good money for — then you already understand why SBR works. We've spent twenty years earning the trust of readers exactly like you. Which is exactly what makes this an interesting place for your company to show up, too.

The ways it can show up are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The right fit depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If your company has something this audience should know about, we'd like to hear what you're working on.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.

None of these stories are mine. They were sent to me by readers of Atomic Habits. My hope is that these examples will illustrate how real people are putting the book into practice. They will show you what people are actually doing to build good habits and break bad ones. And hopefully, they will spark some ideas for how you can do the same.
